In Europe, men are not the only ones that play soccer; women have a league of their own, as well.
Women soccer players in Europe, also have a world cup, which is called the FIFA Women’s World
Cup. There are six nations which participate in the FIFA Women’s World Cup which are Canada, Peru,
Switzerland, Germany, France, and Australia. There are nine stadiums around the world which hold the
matches for the women and the championship. Combined, there are sixteen teams that are selected
to play in the FIFA Women’s Cup. In the first round they need 4 points to advance, the top team’s then
advance to what is called the knock out stage. Here there are two rounds in which are played and the
winners then advance to the final round. It is competition at its best.

In June 2011 the sixth national FIFA Women’s world cup was held in Germany. At this match, thousand
of people gathered together to watch the games take place. Many spectators bought tickets in advance
to make certain that they had their seats. Once the game starts, look out, as fans are there from
